Rhode Island College (RIC) is the state's first and oldest institution of public higher education, 成立于1854年. It is overseen by the President of Rhode Island College, who reports to the Office of the Postsecondary Commissioner (RIOPC).

The RIOPC is the administrative arm of the Rhode Island Council on Postsecondary Education, which provides oversight and governance for RIC and the Community College of Rhode Island.

The president presides over an executive cabinet comprised of the vice presidents of various offices and divisions throughout the college, as well as other high-ranking members of the college's leadership.
